Treadmill, exercise:
A continuous EKG recording of the heart as the patient performs increasing levels of exercise. In addition to detecting abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias), the exercise treadmill is a screening test for the presence of narrowed coronary arteries that can limit the supply of oxygenated blood to the heart muscle during exercise.
