Phenotype:

The appearance resulting from the interaction of the genetic makeup of a person with the environment. If a child has the gene for osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease), minimal trauma can cause fractures. Brittle bones are a principal part of the phenotype of osteogenesis imperfecta.
