Inborn errors of metabolism:

Term coined by A. Garrod in 1908 applying to heritable disorders of biochemistry. Examples include albinism, cystinuria (a cause of kidney stones) and phenylketonuria (PKU) are a few of the hundreds of inborn errors of metabolism.
