Hormone, triiodothyronine:

A hormone made by the thyroid gland. The thyroid gland uses iodine to make thyroid hormones. Triiodothyronine (T3) has three iodine molecules attached to its molecular structure. Iodine is found in seafood, bread, seaweed, and ordinary table salt.
