Hirschsprung's disease:

Absence of nerves (ganglia) in the bowel wall starting in the anus and extending up a variable distance with enlargement of the bowel above that point. Hirschsprung's disease is the commonest cause of lower intestinal obstruction in the newborn and, later, one of the causes of chronic constipation. Also called congenital aganglionic megacolon.
